A Cork auctioneer says higher energy rated homes are commanding a better price as buyers become more energy conscious.
Jeremy Murphy of Jeremy Murphy and Associates says the Cork market is continuing to see a strong demand for good quality houses with the average time taken to sell a house in the city standing at between 4 to 8 weeks.
The average price of a second-hand three-bed semi in the city is €350,000 while in the county the average price of a similar property is €212,500.

Community Employment scheme supervisors are to launch a major campaign seeking an increase in pay to stay ahead of the national minimum wage.
The 1200 supervisors says they haven't received a pay rise in 14 years due to silly bureaucracy arising from the dissolution of the State training agency Fás.
