The Health Minister is to tell his Cabinet colleagues the current funding model for hospices doesn't provide financial stability.
Four hospices are to be given guaranteed state income under a move from the Department of Health.
Marymount Care Centre in Cork, Milford Care Centre in Limerick, Galway Hospice,and St Francis Hospice in Dublin will all be made Section 38 organisations.

Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch is due to go on trial today for the murder of David Byrne, who was shot dead at a boxing weigh-in at the Regency Hotel in Dublin in 2016.
The trial was due to get underway a few weeks ago but was adjourned in light of developments in the case of former Sinn Féin councillor, Jonathan Dowdall.
