The owner of a Direct Provision centre in Co Wicklow says he is taking threats made against the premises seriously.
It’s understood two men walked into the former hotel in Wicklow town and threatened to burn it to the ground.
The centre accommodates almost three hundred asylum seekers, 191 of whom are single men.
The owner of the former hotel, Adrian Shannagher, says he has also received threatening phone calls and threats via email.
"I've had a number of emails, a number of phone calls, or threats to people calls my family home.
"We've had all of that stuff, calls in the middle of night from private numbers, we've had two instances of individuals who walk into the premises straight into to turn the place down."
