Three suspects have been identified in relation to the murder of Dublin prisoner Robert O'Connor.
The 34-year-old, from Darndale, was attacked last Friday in Mountjoy Prison at around 6pm.
He was brought to the Mater Hospital for treatment and was taken off life-support early yesterday morning.
Stephen Breen, crime editor at The Irish Sun, explains where the case is at now:
"Gardaí have identified three suspects in this case and other individual has also been identified as well, so three suspects are now in isolation within the prison. The Guards haven't made any arrests yet they haven't interviewed any of the suspects. In this case, you know the answers to this crime, they are within the prison so that the guards will be focusing all of their attentions on what happened on that landing and speak to everyone who was on the landing at the time."
