Threshold assisted 865 renters facing eviection in Cork so far this year.
The national housing charity's advisors say they are answering one call every twenty minutes from people receiving notices to quit from their landlords.
It says it's helped prevent more than 1,000 households in Ireland becoming homeless between July and September, including nearly 1,200 children.
60% of eviction notices issued to renters were because the landlord intended to sell the property.
Threshold's National Advocacy Manager Ann-Marie O'Reilly says the figures could be just the tip of the iceberg.
