People are putting off leaving their parents' home and starting families of their own because of the state of Ireland's housing market.
That's according to Threshold, which says the renters it deals with are getting older -- and some will never own a home of their own.
Three quarters of those it dealt with were aged 25 to 44-- and just 10% were under 25.
Its chief executive, John-Mark McCafferty, says this means huge implications for Irish society.
"They're not necessarily having those rights of passage at the times they would have done in the past.
"If they can they continue to stay with parents, two or three generations in potentially overcrowded accommodation or cramped accommodation.
"There are quality of life issues, and there are mental health and physical health challenges."
