Irish Travel agents are seeing an increase in bookings of close on 20% since covid travel restrictions were relaxed on Monday.
The industry says people are back in the mood to travel after 16 months of lockdowns.
Pat Dawson is Chief Executive of the Irish Travel Agents Association.
He says the sector is coming back to life.
"The highest enquiry level on one particular agents' website was 35%, but the average is about 15-20%.
"The 19th of July, or as we call it "Freedom Day', has certainly helped bookings and certainly inquiries, that's for sure."
