The world of motorsport is in mourning following the tragic death of Craig Breen.

The 33-year-old, who was from Waterford, died when his Hyundai car crashed during a pre-race test on the route near the town of Lobor yesterday.

He began his racing career in karting before moving into full-time rallying in 2009.

Councillor Ger Frisby says Craig will be hugely missed.

"It's a terrible tragedy. I would like to sincerely offer my heartfelt sympathies to Craig's family, his mother and father Jackie and Ray, and his sister Kelly, and the whole extended Breen family."

Meanwhile tributes have been pouring in for Breen on social media.
