Hundreds of workers at Twitter have apparently turned down Elon Musk's demands to sign up for "long hours at high intensity".
Its office buildings, including the base in Dublin, are now closed until Monday, with some staff believed to have left instead.
Reports suggest the platform's new owner fears "sabotage".
Lawyer Lisa Bloom is representing some of those who've been laid off - she's warning the billionaire to "get his act together".
"These are human beings that have job rights, and human rights protections. He has to start showing them respect.
"If he continues laying off large numbers of employees before the holidays, those that are left behind will be angry."
