Two people are fighting for their lives after being seriously hurt in separate hit-and-runs last night in Dublin and Galway
Gardaí have urged people who might have seen what happened to come forward with information.
The first crash happened at near Furbo Church on the Furbo to Spiddal Road in Co Galway at around half eight yesterday evening.
A driver ran into a man in his forties in a car -- and then left the scene.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital Galway with serious injuries.
He remains in a critical condition today.
Separately, in Dublin, the rider of a scrambler motorbike hit a woman in her twenties on the Priorswood Road in Coolock.
The rider fled the scene, leaving the woman on the road with serious injuries.
She too is in a critical condition at Beaumont Hospital.
Gardaí have asked anyone who knows what happened them to make contact with them.
Investigators in Salthill Garda Station have asked for any footage taken on the R336 Furbo to Spiddal road between 8 and 9 last night.
