Ulster Bank customers have pulled 1.2 billion euro of savings out of the bank in the last year, ahead of it's planned departure.
The Central Bank says this is at odds with the trend of deposit amounts increasing in other banks.
However Ulster Bank says it doesn't anticipate closing any of it's branches in the early part of next year, but has stopped accepting new customers.
While around 280 of it's employees will transfer to AIB should a deal between the two banks be finalised.
