Unemployment In Ireland Drops From 30% In Lockdown To Just Under 15% This Month

The ESRI predicts that overall unemployment for the year will be 17%

They also predict it will go down to 10 percent next year.

That compares to last year when unemployment was just under 5 percent.

The think tank says that decline in economic activity in Ireland due to Covid-19 won't be as bad as initially thought due to growth in a small number of sectors.

Research Professor from the ESRI, Kieran McQuinn, says Ireland will fare better than other EU countries:
