The Secretary General of the Department of Health has agreed to appear before an Oireachtas Committee next week.
Robert Watt will be joined by Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan to discuss the circumstances of the abandoned secondment of Dr Holohan to a professorship at Trinity College.
Mr Watt has refused to appear before the Finance Committee and will instead appear before the Oireachtas Health Committee.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has said he will also attend a committee hearing after an external review into the issue has been completed.
