Vaping will be banned in Australia as part of a major health crackdown.
The sale of vapes will be restricted to pharmacies and will be on prescription only, after the country's Health Minister said e-cigarettes have created a "new generation of nicotine addicts".
In Ireland, legislation to ban the sale of vapes to under 18s is expected to be passed in mid-July.
But Consultant physician Dr. Luke Clancy says the changes will not solve the problem of nicotine addiction.
"Children who start on electronic cigarettes are twice as likely to smoke later. They don't need any bans to encourage them to do that - that's a well known fact.
"It's already a major problem - it's addiction to nicotine and it does lead to an increased smoking rate.
