The Tánaiste has apologised for not releasing text messages sooner over the Katherine Zappone controversy.
Journalists had been looking for the exchanges under Freedom Of Information requests but had been told they didn’t exist.
Leo Varadkar says he hadn’t been contacted to check his phone for records and the officer in charge had only looked at emails and letters.
Elsewhere, the Foreign Affairs Minister is also under pressure after he admitted deleting his exchanges saying his phone had been hacked before.
Higher Education Minister Simon Harris says Simon Coveney would be willing to clear up any confusion.
"I think it's very clear to say that there are questions that people still want answered.
"I've heard Oireachtas committee members looking for answers, indeed the chairman for the Foreign Affairs Committee Charlie Flanagan says there are questions that they want answered.
"I know the department has committed to publishing quite a bit of paperwork to show just how this processes was handled in the department, and I think that's the appropriate place for these questions to be answered, and I know Simon Coveney will only be too happy to do that. "
