The brother of a woman who was murdered last year, says minimum life sentences would give some comfort to his family.
The Justice Minister will put together legislation in the new year, giving judges the discretion to sentence serious criminals 20 or 30 years behind bars, before they're considered for parole.
Jennifer Poole's murderer, Gavin Murphy, was convicted last year and can begin the process of applying for parole in 9 years' time.
