A warning's going out for people to take steps to stay safe on the water this May Bank Holiday weekend.
The Coast Guard, RNLI and Water Safety Ireland are jointly advising people to always check the weather and tides when visiting the coast.
People should carry a reliable means of raising the alarm and tell someone where they're going and what time they'll be back.
Irish Coastguard Operations Manager, Micheál O'Toole says people need to make sure equipment for a trip on the water works:
"Equipment is very important in terms of the activities. So it's to ensure that if you have equipment such as personal floatation devices - that those are serviced and appropriate to the task you wish to undertake. That equally, that you have training in the equipment that you may require for your your excursion or your task".
