A Government minister has confirmed a winter ban on evictions is being considered.
The Housing Minister is consulting with the Attorney General on the temporary measure on the back of the cost-of-living crisis, the threat of electricity blackouts and record homeless figures.
It's reported the ban could last until the end of February or March.
Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney says a number of issues will have to be worked out first.
