The Government plans to bring in an evictions ban from the 1st of November.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin says evictions will return on a phased basis from April 2023, giving people some certainty through the winter.
Sinn Féin says it will support the move and called for legislation to be brought this week.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin says it will be in the Dáil for debate next Wednesday:
"I would respectfully suggest if we'd brought something in right now and said we're gonna ram through by Wednesday, you all would be opposing it and saying this is shocking. November 1st is the date that the minister has assigned so the legislation will be published and we will work with you to get it through as quick as possible."
