The average annual shop is €868 more expensive than last year.
Kantar has measured grocery inflation to be at a record high of 12.4%.
The cost of everyday staples like butter, milk and bread are now costing 28% more than they did this time last year.
Kantar's report also suggests that consumers are doing less 'big shops' and going more often with shopping trips increasing by nearly 4%.
32% of shoppers say they are struggling to make ends meet, which is up from 23% in March.
The study shows that consumers are spending more than €860 more a year for their shopping which works out at around €3.36 a basket.
With Halloween just around the corner, Kantar says there's been a 24% increase in pumpkin sales on last year with shoppers spending 1.3 million more on sweets and 800,000 on chocolate.
