It's the biggest round of layoffs in the company's history, which executives are blaming on an "uncertain" global economy.
Amazon CEO, Andy Jassy has confirmed that the company plans to eliminate just over 18,000 roles.
This figure includes job cuts announced in November of last year.
Roles impacted, include those in HR and Amazon stores, as well as what's called 'People, experience and technology'.
Andy Jassy said the organisation intended to speak to those impacted first before sharing the information publicly, however, he said one of our teammates leaked this information externally.
The staff impacted by the cuts will be informed from January 18th.
