The Finance Minister believes genuine concerns by residents about the placing of asylum seekers are being hijacked by a small minority.
Protests have taken place in East Wall in Dublin in the past week after a number of asylum seekers were housed in a former ESB office block.
Residents are due to meet with the Integration Minister Roderic O'Gorman today.
Finance Minister, and local TD, Paschal Donohoe says there have been concerns raised by constituents with him:
"It is understandable that given the housing challenges that of course, we have at the moment that I know we need to do better on that issues are raised in relation to accommodation in relation to how we have to look after and how we can look after so many large number of pupils quickly, and how this can be done in a manner that is fair, but also generous. And that is an area that I know is becoming more and more challenging."
