The Rugby World Cup, the Women's World cup in Australia, Ryan Tubridy and Smash Burgers were among the most searched terms this year
Google has released its annual list of the most frequent searches, which in 2023 also featured 'How to claim rent tax credit' and 'How to solve a Rubik's cube'.
Movies were also the subject of many searches this year, and Google's Julie Dodger says its no surprise that Barbie and Oppenheimer featured highly:
"Movies: you would have heard during the year about the Barbenheimer controversy or which one was being searched for the most. Believe it or not, despite Barbie's box office supremacy, Oppenheimer was searched more than Barbie this year and our own Banshees of Inisherin came in third."
