Ian Bailey has described himself as being comparable to the Birmingham Six and Guildford Four over the manner in which he believes he has been wrongly connected to the killing of the late Sophie Toscan du Plantier.
66 year-old Bailey was detained by Gardaí for questioning on two occasions ,in relation to the 1996 murder of the 39 year old French national.
He has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to the murder of the film producer who had a holiday home in West Cork.
Ian Bailey was convicted in absentia, after a trial in France four years ago, and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
However, officials in France have been unable to extradite him to Paris to serve the sentence handed down by the courts.
