Comedian and actor Jon Kenny will be laid to rest tomorrow at midday in Bruff, County Limerick.
The Hospital native passed away in Galway surrounded by his wife and children on Friday, after suffering a cardiac arrest the previous Sunday.
He had battled cancer in recent years for the second time, after initially being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2000.
Jon's former comedy partner Pat Shortt, played a show in Bantry on Saturday night and dedicated it to him.
"We wondered if we should go ahead or not, but Jon lived for theatre. The week before he got sick he did two shows in one day - he wasn't stopping.
"It's a tradition in theatre that when someone takes their final bow, as Jon did on Friday, that at your next show you get the audience to give them a standing ovation to see them off.
"We did that."
