A Limerick man, who is in a critical condition in Thailand, is to be flown home to Ireland next week.
36-year-old James Burke from Effin in Co. Limerick got dengue fever and sepsis after being bitten by a mosquito while on holiday.
James Burke was on his way to the airport to travel home, when he suddenly became seriously ill - suffering acute kidney failure, pneumonia, a bleed on the brain and severe nerve damage.
Although he had travel insurance, his family say the insurance company wouldn't cover his bills, as he was hospitalised on the last day of his cover.
They have raised over 93-thousand euro on Go Fund Me to pay for his treatment and to bring him back to Ireland.
With his condition is slowly improving, the HSE will now fly James home on the 28th December.
