A 34 year old man is due in court today charged in relation to an alleged sexual assault on a teenage girl that took place in Fermoy.
The incident took place just after 1pm in Chapel Square in the town on Monday afternoon.
The attacker fled the scene when two men aged in their late teens rushed to her aid, with one of them suffering head injuries as a result.
The teenage girl was treated in hospital for minor injuries, and was left deeply traumatised.
The 34 year old man was is due before Mallow District Court this morning.
