Motorists and pedestrians across Cork are being urged to be extremely cautious this morning.
Heavy snow hit parts of the county yesterday, with a status yellow warning for low temperatures and ice still in place for the entire country until Thursday.
Thousands of homes and businesses across the country remain without power, with a number of ESB Customers in Whitecurch, Lissarourke, Millstreet and Castletownroche remaining without power this morning.
A number of rail services in Cork have been cancelled this morning - the 6.15 Cork to Midleton and the 7.45 Midleton to Cork, while the 6.15AM Cork-Hueston service was amalgamated into the 7AM service.
Some schools will remain shut today across the county, while others have later starts because of the weather.
It means some children will get an extended Christmas break, with the new school term due to start today.
The HSE has cancelled some services in Cork, including outpatient appointments and day services, while the CUMH has cancelled all gynaecology appointments.
