Quality Street is introducing a paper tub as an alternative to its plastic container.
Nestle has produced 200,000 of the paper boxes, which will be available in supermarkets from next week.
It follows the introduction of recyclable paper wrappers two years ago.
Chocolate lovers will be able to choose from a paper, plastic or tin box this Christmas.
