The Taoiseach says he doesn’t think other politicians should be calling for Robbie Keane to resign as manager of Israel football team Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The former Ireland striker moved to Tel Aviv earlier this year, taking over as manager of the Israeli Premier League's most successful club.
Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald and People Before Profit have both slammed Robbie Keane for continuing to work in Israel during the ongoing conflict.
However Leo Varadkar says singling out people in Israel isn’t going to achieve peace:
"I think it's up to him, but I am not calling on him to consider his position at all. I'm not convinced that demonising and ostracising an entire country and an entire nation of people is actually the best way for us to achieve what we are trying to achieve".
