Motorists and pedestrians across Cork are being urged to be extremely cautious this morning.
Heavy snow hit parts of the county yesterday, with a status yellow warning for low temperatures and ice still in place for the entire country until Thursday.
Thousands of homes and businesses across the country remain without power, with a number of ESB Customers in Whitecurch, Lissarourke, Millstreet and Castletownroche remaining without power this morning.

Some schools will remain shut today across the county, while others have later starts because of the weather.
It means some children will get an extended Christmas break, with the new school term due to start today.

There will be some disruption to HSE services in a number of counties today due to the severe weather.
It's cancelled some services in Cork due to the hazardous travelling conditions.
These include outpatient appointments and day services.
However, the HSE says most services will operate as normal.
CUMH says that maternity appointments will proceed as scheduled, while gynaecology appointments at CUMH and Lee Clinic have been cancelled and will be rescheduled.

Colin Farrell has won his third Golden Globe.
He was awarded Best Actor in a Limited Series last night for his lead role in 'The Penguin', about the Batman villain of the same name.
He was nominated in the same category as fellow Dubliner Andrew Scott, for his performance in 'Ripley'.
