Celtic Football Club has paid tribute to Rosemary Burns who died after falling ill onboard a flight which made an emergency landing at Cork Airport yesterday morning.
The widow of former Celtic player Tommy Burns was 69.
A Jet2 flight from Tenerife to Glasgow diverted to Cork airport in the early hours of yesterday morning after the crew declared an emergency.
Emergency services met the flight and took Rosemary Burns to Cork University Hospital.
Celtic Football Club said its thoughts are with her children Emma, Jenna, Michael and Jonathan.
Tommy Burns played for the club between 1974 and 1989 and died from skin cancer in 2008 aged 51.
