A yellow wind and rain warning is in effect this morning for the west and north of the country.
Clare, Kerry, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo will see strong winds until 6 o'clock tomorrow morning.
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says the bad weather may lead to flooding:
"We've seen very high rainfall totals in the last few days and also some coastal flooding. Especially early this morning we could see some more coastal flooding with some high spring tide and those strong westerly winds along the west coast and the south coast".
