A North Cork-man has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate for Outstanding Contributions to Dementia Advocacy
Kevin Quaid, from Kanturk, was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2017 after a previous diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease.
He founded Lewy Body Ireland, has published two books on his experiences, and serves on Dementia working groups in Ireland and Europe.
Over 7,500 people are estimated to live with dementia in Cork, and at least 30 people are diagnosed nationwide every day.
