The MV Alta, which was abandoned by her crew in October 2018, washed up over a week ago during Storm Dennis.
Cork County Council say they are monitoring forecasts to identify an opportunity to remove oil barrels in the coming days and are reminding people to stay away from the wreck as it is located on a dangerous stretch of coastline.
