An outbreak of measles in the UK is putting children in Ireland at risk.
There have 198 cases of the highly contagious infection in Britain since October.
High levels of travel between Ireland and the UK, as well as a falling vaccination rate in both countries, mean it's very likely measles will be imported.
Speaking to RedFM News, Blackpool GP, Dr John Sheehan says the infection should not be taken lightly:
"Most of us have forgotten about now because we haven't seen it for years, so children can get hearing problems, 1-in-1,000 children who get measles get swelling of the brain, and 1-in-10,000 can get permanent brain damage. Along with that, people can be quite sick with Measles, can be in hospital and they can get pneumonia with measles as well".
