The owner of a restaurant in West Cork says putting up menu prices in rural areas will turn local customers away.
Budd’s restaurant in Ballydehob says it’s taken a massive hit with the increase of the price of stock and energy, as well as VAT and minimum wage increases.
Jamie Budd who owns the restaurant is calling on the Government to take action after the recent wave of closures in Cork.
Speaking to the Neil Prendeville Show, Jamie says he can’t put his prices any higher:
"Where we're based in Ballydehob in Rural Ireland, we only get tourists a few months of the year so it's the local people that rely on the service, so if we put our prices up then they're going to stop coming because they won't be able to afford it."
