Parents are living in fear in Carrigaline due to the lack of road safety measures.
People in the area are calling for more funding for speed ramps and pedestrian crossings to be implemented, particularly in housing estates with busy roads.
Councillors say they regularly receive calls from worried road users reporting near misses because of the lack of safety measures in place.
Speaking to RedFM News, Carrigaline Councillor Seamus McGrath it’s vital that the council prioritise the issue:
"We're surrounded by busy roads in Carrigaline, it's a heavily trafficked area. Parents are regularly in contact with me about how dangerous it is. Ultimately it's a resource issue, and the council at a high level needs to put more resource issue."
