Parents are raising concerns about organised fights among teenagers on the north and south sides of the city.

The brawls are organised between different gangs who are all believed to be around 15 or 16.

Parents say the fights are happening nearly every weekend and are calling for Gardaí to step in to stop the fights after at least one teen was seriously injured recently.

Speaking to RedFM News, Councillor Mick Finn says the fights are happening regularly:

"There was an incident recently on the south side of the city where a young teen maybe 15/16 got into a serious altercation when a major fight broke out, with lots of onlookers who ended up being very seriously injured. So apparently that's not uncommon. And it's been happening very regularly and I think we need to do take a lot of measures to start addressing it before somebody is seriously injured or indeed worse."
