People in the city say Fermoy has been unfairly judged on UK television.
An audience member appeared on The Graham Norton Show last Friday and told the host she lived in the North Cork town for 20 years.
She described Fermoy as a "horrible horrible town" which "has a bridge if people want to jump off it"
