Policing plans are in place at the homes of Cork's three senior cabinet ministers, according to chief superintendent Barry McPolin.

The Echo report that the plans are in place at the homes of Taoiseach Micheal Martin, Foreign Affairs minister Simon Coveney and Public Expenditure Minister Michael McGrath.

Speaking at yesterday's joint policing commitee meeting, Chief Superintendent McPolin said that while he could not reveal particular details, there are extensive plans in place at the homes of the Taoiseach and the ministers.

Barry McPolin's comments come following the demonstration that took place outside the home of Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and his partner Matt Barrett on Sunday by anti vaccine campaigners, where homophobic language could be heard.
