37 Year Old Murder Victim Told Family Her Children Should Not Stay With Their Father If She Died

5 months before her murder, Seema Banu told her family if she dies, her children should not stay with their father.

The 37-year-old was brutally killed, alongside her 11-year-old daughter Asfira and 6-year-old son Faizan, in their home in Ballinteer in Dublin in October 2020.

Gardaí told Dublin Coroner’s Court this morning they had to forcibly enter the house that day, after Ms Banu failed to open the door to a scheduled appointment with a social worker.

The two children were discovered side-by-side in a bed upstairs while their mother was found in a separate bedroom.

All three were discovered with scarves tied around their necks.

Ms Banu’s husband Sameer Syed was charged with their murder but took his own life before his trial began.
