885 Covid patients in hospital
885 people are being treated in hospital with Covid 19 , an increase of 59 since yesterday.
Currently, there are 32 patients with the disease in ICU.
The figures come as Taoiseach Micheál Martin says the roll out of a fourth round of Covid vaccines would take place in the autumn.
Monaghan GP Illona Duffy says people shouldn’t rely on just one antigen test to establish it they have the virus:
“The message is thought to be if you have any of these symptoms, you’ve really got to test yourself and do that home antigen test and one isn’t enough. I got caught out myself, I was doing twice daily antigen tests with mild symptoms and I was convinced it would be COVID and ultimately it was proven by a positive antigen test.”
