A further four men released in League of Ireland match fixing probe
Gardai have released a further 4 of the 5 men being questioned about alleged match fixing in the League of Ireland.
10 men arrested as part of ‘Operation Brookweed’ yesterday during a ‘day of action’ which also involved searches in Cork, Limerick and Dublin.
Among those detained 5 were former League of Ireland players and 2 are current players.
5 of them were released from custody last night , this morning Gardai confirmed that a further 4 men have been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
One man is still being questioned about the match fixing allegations.
