The author Salman Rushdie has been airlifted to hospital after he was apparently stabbed in the neck before delivering a talk in New York state.
A man is in custody after rushing on to the stage.
His condition – and what’s happened – is currently unknown.
In the past, he had received death threats for his works including his 1988 book, The Satanic Verses.
