A big demonstration’s expected this morning around the German village of Lützerath – at risk of demolition over the expansion of a coal mine.

Climate campaigner Greta Thunberg has joined protesters there, with some still holed up in tree houses and a tunnel.

Environmentalists argue the expansion would result in huge amounts of greenhouse gas emissions – but supporters claim it’s needed to ensure Germany’s energy security.
