Blarney residents to protest in bid to save Post Office
Locals in Blarney are to protest next Monday in an effort to save Blarney Post Office.
The current postmaster’s contract is due to end at the end of May and An Post have so far failed to secure an alternative.
Local politicians are supporting locals stance on the matter as they say the closure of a post office can equal the death of a village
In a statement issued to RedFM News in the past few minutes An Post say this is the third time they have advertised the vacant contract for Blarney with the deadline for applications on May 12th next.
They say they’ve advertised the contract twice already but not received any interest to date.
