At least 36 people have died – including a 7 year old girl – after heavy rain caused flooding and landslides in Brazil.

Rescue workers are searching for people across Sao Paulo state after more than 6-hundred milli-litres of rain hit the region in one day.

The area’s declared a 180-day state of emergency for six cities.
