Breakthrough Hoped For Today At Cop 27 Today In Egypt

There could be a breakthrough at Cop 27 which continues today in Egypt.

The EU’s proposed a new fund to help poor countries deal with climate change.

Trócaire spokesperson Siobhan Curran says the talks on finance are on a knife-edge:

“We’re down to the wire of the negotiations. So the focus really will be on agreement on loss and damage on a finance facility that the developed countries are being asked to deliver on.
I suppose, this really is an opportunity to move the dial on climate justice and to deliver on the Finance Facility on loss and damage”.
