The Red Devils travel to Spain to face Villareal in the Champions League.
Michael Carrick is in charge following the sacking of Solskjaer on Sunday
The former midfielder was the Norwegian’s assistant and admits he won’t make sweeping changes to the way they play.
“I’ve worked closely with Ole for a long time now, and we do have very similar beliefs, we did as players and we certainly do as coach and manager.
“Yes of course I’ve got my own personality, and I’m very clear in my own mind about what we’re going to do, how we’re going to play, and I”m looking forward to seeing that on the pitch.’
Carrick says Solskjaer’s departure was tough for everyone at the club,.
“Results in this business is everything.
“As much as you build the foundation, and create the right environment and treat people the right way, sometimes you don’t always get what you deserve unfortunately.
Defeat in Spain – coupled with a win for Atalanta away to Young Boys – could see United go into the final round of matches in third spot.
United captain Harry Maguire says it’s down to the players to get back on track.
“You go through ups and downs, and you go through tough times.
“If you talk to a lot of the players here they’ll tell you it’s the toughest time they’ve gone through at club level.
“We know it’s not been good enough.”
